Maine trips meet at our beautiful base camp along the Kennebec River Our base lodge includes a restaurant, pub, retail store, game room, heated wetsuit storage and comfortable seating to view digital photos and video from your day on the river. Lodging includes motel style rooms, suites with two person Jacuzzi tubs, cabins sleeping 4-10 and campsites along the Kennebec River. Our grounds include a brand new swimming pool, outdoor hot tubs and a private raft take-out. On each river trip we enjoy a snack on the river and then return to the comfort of our base camp for our delicious river lunch of steak, chicken and salmon.

Crab Apple offers trips on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers for all ages and ability levels and special pricing for kids 9-15. Specialty trips include funyaks (inflatable kayaks) and “Go For It” rafts which give the most exciting ride on the river. Group pricing is available for groups of 16 or more and for all youth organizations such as scouts, religious youth groups, summer camps, recreation departments and schools.

Crab Apple also includes Rapid Shot Paintball, the area’s only paintball fields. We play half and full days and also “Nightfall Paintball” after raft trips until dark – now that’s cool! “Shoot the Rapids” and then challenge your friends at our “Bunker Hill”, “Patriot”, “Mayday” and “Urban Village” fields.

Specialty – Kennebec River Two-Day Overnight Camping Adventure

Magic Falls is well known for its specialty packages for families, youth and college groups, Scout Merit Badges, bachelor and bachelorette parties and project graduation trips. It pioneered the Multi-Magic trip-a double run of the Kennebec’s upper gorge. It’s Outback Adventure trip including camping, outdoor BBQ, rafting, fun-yaking, a hike to Moxie Falls and wildlife safari was cited by Air-Tran’s in-flight Magazine “Go” as one of the 20 top Family Adventures in the USA.

Magic Falls base facility is located along the banks of the Dead River and includes the area’s only outdoor climbing wall, a recreation pavilion, changing and shower facilities, campground with tent sites and cabin tents, a lodge with queen, king and bunk rooms and an ADA room, and the River’s Inn, a housekeeping inn sleeping 16, a favorite with small groups. Recreation amenities include a hot tub, volleyball court, basketball half court, and float tubes.
